Brand new archery range 🏹
Hello archers !! Prodigy Archery would love to take this opportunity to tell you who and what we are to help answer any questions you may have. We were blessed with this amazing property that is suited perfectly to accommodate this vision of a world class archery range to share with the community and surrounding areas.
We are located in beautiful Smoky Lake County, AB between Hwy 28 & the Iron Horse Trail on Range Road 190.
As an avid archer myself with 40+ years of experience and passion for this sport I was able to share my interest with my wonderful son whom happens to be an archery prodigy, this is how the name Prodigy Archery came to be .
First and foremost ( although not affiliated) was the implementation of Canadian Archery Association safety guidelines for range layout design, range use rules and archer etiquette. With full range visibility from one end to the other, it’s easier to verify the range is clear. Shooting boxes are 4’ wide for wheelchair use And shooter comfort.
A signed copy of Canadian Archery Association range use rules & etiquette will be mandatory entrance requirement with parental consent for those under 18years of age. For your own legal protection, we recommend aquiring archers insurance from Alberta Archery Association or Canadian Archery Association prior to your visit.
Prodigy Archery will be a very comfortable user friendly archery range designed for archers of all ages, skill levels and disciplines.
We will offer a Blind bale/paper tuning target, moveable target practice area, 30y - 100y fixed With 36” X 36“ adjustable compression custom targets and a 3D target zone. Our shooting lanes are designed for easy target acquisition with up-to 3 shooters per target face. The target lanes, shooting line, waiting line, spectators area and parking lot will be packed gravel. We will have a work station with benches for minor adjustments, picnic tables, office with small concession, chronograph, recurve rental and porta potties for customer use.
The spectator and shooting area are separated by fence for safety. Picnic tables will be nestled in the shade of the willow trees For friends and family. Our parking lot will accommodate all vehicles including school buses and OHV’s.
Over the next few years our plan includes a inclosed heated shelter and covered shooting/waiting lines.
Input and suggestions are welcome so we can accommodate our communities needs. We will do our best to create a safe, friendly experience for all to enjoy.
